Leisure Report 2025: Ins & Outs
As people deeply invested in and excited about the world of leisure, travel, dining, and drinking, it was fun to look ahead and place some informed guesses on the trends we’ll see unfold in the year ahead.
While mostly just for fun, and even as a way to manifest the things we hope will be true this year, these were also created intentionally and using trends and data we’ve been keeping an eye on for awhile now.
So without further ado, here are the ins and outs we’re predicting for the world of leisure in 2025:
Ins:
Revamped historical spaces
Swim clubs
Well-executed themed bars
Grown-up activities in beautiful places (i.e. bougie arcades)
Physical menus
Restaurants and bars with live jazz music
Places you can dance in / clubs
No phone policies in bars
Planning a whole trip around seeing a single location
Quaint towns with one main street or town square
Ordering the same dish every time if it's what you like
Slow, thoughtful design
Treating restaurants and hotels like art galleries
Working from hotel lobbies
Weekend getaways that become your whole personality
Chocolate martinis and retro cocktails
Outs:
Corporate design vibes
Restaurants only posting photos of their food
Over-the-top drinks & food only meant for IG posts
Publications only posting sponsored content
Bots buying reservations
Going places just to post about it
AirBnb
Airlines charging more than $8 for terrible wifi
Entrees turned into martinis
Bad lighting in restaurants
Using y*lp to find where to eat
Fake flowers in restaurants or coffee shops
Going broke to fly Business or First Class
Credit card companies who change their point systems
Reels of restaurants where the brightness is turned down to 2
Espresso martinis (even if we’ll still order them)
If you have strong opinions on any of these feel free to chime in on Instagram ;) Looking forward to another beautiful and magical year with you all and can’t wait to circle back on all this in early 2026.
