From reimagined Art Deco icons to brand-new mountain escapes, 2026 brings a fresh wave of design-forward hotels across the U.S. that prioritize aesthetics as much as they do hospitality. Whether it's a historic Nob Hill landmark getting a complete restoration, a maximalist boutique debut on Coronado Island, or Palm Beach's first Oetker Collection property, these openings represent what happens when developers, designers, and hoteliers commit to creating spaces that are as visually compelling as they are welcoming. We're tracking the most beautiful new hotels set to open this year, from properties already taking reservations to those still putting the finishing touches on their interiors. Here are the openings worth watching, planning around, and adding to your travel wish list for 2026.
The Huntington Hotel | San Francisco, CA

The Huntington Hotel returns to San Francisco's Nob Hill in spring 2026 following a complete restoration led by designer Ken Fulk, marking his first San Francisco hotel project. The 1922 Italian Renaissance Revival building closed during the pandemic and is reopening with 143 guest rooms and suites (including a nearly 1,500-square-foot penthouse), the beloved Big Four restaurant celebrating its 50th anniversary, and the reimagined three-level Nob Hill Spa. Fulk preserved the property's Georgian architecture wherever possible, including stately plasterwork ceilings, boiserie panels, and expansive windows, while updating the interiors to balance the hotel's historic charm with contemporary luxury.
Baby Grand | Coronado Island, San Diego, CA

CH Projects brings its signature maximalism to Coronado Island with Baby Grand, a 31-room boutique hotel opening in early 2026 across from the iconic Hotel del Coronado. Designed by Brooklyn's Post Company (the same team behind the Lafayette Hotel), the property features pearlescent clamshell beds, walls adorned with scenic landscapes, oversized mirrored minibars in bold red and bronze, and custom wallpaper with freestanding tubs in the bathrooms. The hotel transforms a former parking lot into a 6,000-square-foot al fresco entryway with lush landscaping, exaggerated rock formations, and sculptural water features, plus three restaurant concepts including a Greek-Mediterranean brasserie and a reservation-only oyster and Champagne bar.
The Vineta | Palm Beach, FL
Oetker Collection makes its U.S. debut with The Vineta in Palm Beach, opening in early 2026 as the brand's 12th Masterpiece Hotel worldwide. The property occupies the former Chesterfield Hotel with a complete restoration by Paris-based designer Tino Zervudachi, reducing the room count from 57 to 41 more spacious accommodations inspired by Palm Beach's island lifestyle. The pale-pink Mediterranean Revival façade remains a landmark just two blocks from Worth Avenue, while the interior features four dining concepts including Coco's, the revived Leopard Lounge, an intimate courtyard for alfresco dining, and a highly exclusive American Bar with only a handful of seats.

White Elephant | Aspen, CO
White Elephant Resorts heads west for the first time with a 54-room hotel in Aspen's West End neighborhood, opening February 2026 on the corner of Main Street and Garmisch Street. Boston-based firm EMBARC designed the property to blend Aspen's Victorian-inspired aesthetic with contemporary Alpine-chic interiors featuring a palette of rust, warm whites, and deep charcoals paired with leather, wood, and stone textures. The hotel partners with Anderson Ranch Arts Center to showcase over 50 works by local artists, making it the only Aspen hotel to feature the ranch's artists, while signature restaurant LoLa 41° brings seafood and sushi inspired by destinations along the 41st parallel, plus a speakeasy lounge, on-site Boot Lounge with heated ski lockers, and complimentary BMW courtesy vehicles for exploring the area.

The icon that helped define modern boutique hospitality reopens March 2026 following a comprehensive renovation by Elastic Architects in collaboration with Ennismore's design team. Since its 1947 debut (and its 1995 relaunch by Ian Schrager and Philippe Starck), Delano's striking Art Deco façade and all-white interiors have been a South Beach landmark, and the restoration preserves key historical features including original terrazzo flooring, the mezzanine bridge, and the legendary ground-floor pool. The 171 guestrooms and suites (including Poolside Bungalow Suites and Penthouses) embrace a soft minimalist aesthetic with bespoke lighting and furnishings, while four restaurant and bar concepts include the return of the famed Rose Bar, a new beachfront amenity deck, a second fourth-floor pool, and a state-of-the-art wellness studio with holistic spa treatments.

The property aims to capture the charm and elegance that Naples is known for, with more details about the design and amenities expected to be announced as the opening approaches.
