A maximalist boutique hotel on Coronado Island designed as the fever dream of an eccentric collector, with a lobby of hand-painted Pompeiian tapestries, a draped ceiling, and an oversized Murano glass chandelier concealing a secret oyster and champagne bar behind a sculpture. Rooms center on iridescent clamshell beds, animal-print furnishings, marble washstands, and freestanding bathtubs, while a lushly overgrown courtyard of classical statues and sculptural rock formations makes the whole property read like something discovered rather than built.
